LBW 2007 is under the auspice of the Hellenic Linux Users Group. Hellug was established as a legal entity in 1998 and has members all over Greece. It is run by a 5-member board elected every year.

For the coordination of the event local face to face meeting are regularly organised at the Lab of Hellug for those living in Athens while a dedicated mailing list serves as a way to communicate with the people living and working in Crete and the rest of the Organising Committee.
